TO HONOR JAMES B SMITH
The James and Eunice Smith Charitable Organization, Inc was founded to honor James B Smith. In order to carry on into the future the type of personal and community assistance he was involved in during his life. He served the Eudora community as a City Councilman and as a School Board member. He helped found the Eudora Babe Ruth Baseball program. He began the umpire association to provide umpires for the baseball games in the league. He served as a coach and as the district Babe Ruth representative at various times. He helped build the baseball field located beside the Eudora Recreation Center. He was a member of several civic organizations and his church board in Eudora.

The James and Eunice Smith Charitable Organization, Inc was founded to honor Eunice A Smith. In order to carry on into the future the type of personal and community assistance she was involved in during her life. She was a long time member and officer in the Eudora Parent Teachers Organization. She was a member of many local civic and church organizations and clubs. Besides raising six children, she cared for several other children in her home over the years. She served Douglas County for many years as the deputy register of deeds.
